The Ocean's 8 Jewelry at the Center of it All
The prized jewelry in Ocean's 8 is a spectacular necklace that is encrusted with a plethora of clear and colored diamonds. While the piece itself is fictional, the necklace it is based on certainly isn't.
The inspiration for the priceless diamond necklace in Ocean's 8 was pulled from Cartier's history when Jacques Cartier designed a necklace for the Maharaja of Nagwanagar in 1931. While the necklace was designed by Jacques Cartier, the true bold beauty of the piece could be attributed to the creative director at the time, Jeanne Toussaint.
Unfortunately, the necklace no longer exists, but there are plenty of detailed design sketches, which the movie creators used as a reference for the necklace used in the film. Those who are passionate about all things Cartier will be disappointed to learn that the Toussaint won't be on sale to the public. However, Cartier dressed many of the stars in luxury jewelry, watches, and accessories from their various collections, which are all available for sale.

While you may not be able to purchase the Toussaint necklace, visitors to Cartier's Ocean's 8 exhibit a few months ago had the opportunity to view it in person at the brand's New York mansion. There, Cartier had put on an exhibition showcasing all of the fine jewelry seen in the film, including the Toussaint.
The exhibition offered viewers a truly immersive experience, as they were given the opportunity to view all of the Ocean's 8 jewelry up-close and in-person.
